Before our trip to Hawaii, Maddy was just starting to try walking. She'd take 2-3 steps before sitting down, once in awhile she'd go 6-7 steps. Usually, for everyone except Mommy. For some reason, once she saw Mommy, she'd stop walking and start crawling to me. She was also working on 4 new teeth at the same time.
Madailein also had her first haircut before we left. It wasn't really a "haircut" so much as a "little snip or two." Her hair is still short, we just trimmed her "comb-over" piece - the last remnant of the hair she was born with. Pretty much all the rest of it had fallen out and grown back. She had one piece on the top that never fell out, just got longer and in all her pictures looked like a comb-over! So, we finally got rid of it. :) And yes, I did save some of her hair... although why, Scott cannot figure out.
The flight to Hawaii was actually very good. I was worried that Maddy would be too restless and upset about not being able to move around. However, we lucked out and the flight wasn't too full. One of the attendants allowed us to move to a 3-seater and she had a whole seat to herself. She was fascinated with the digital numbers on the armrest, showing what channel the tv was on. She talked about them most of the flight, though I never really caught what was so interesting... :) She did actually sleep for part of the 5 hour flight, thankfully. The take-off and landing didn't phase her at all. I think the worst part was getting to the airport. When Scott had called the airlines they had told him we needed Maddy's birth certificate to board the plane. Well, of course we forgot it at home. We were on our way to the airport when he remembered. We called again and they said, yes, it is required. So we dashed back home and then back to the airport and barely made our flight on time - we were literally running for the gate. And, naturally, NO ONE asked for her birth certificate. We were told later by a gate attendant that it's only asked for when they think someone is trying to pass off their kid as under 2. Oh, we were mad. I won't repeat our thoughts on the matter, though.

In any case, we got there, including our luggage, thankfully. The trip was fabulous. However, I will have to continue this later as it is almost midnight and I need to work tomorrow! Sorry, to be continued...
